Project unknown further thoughts

I think we have a proof of concept with some risks. When I think about the setup all is done, but will the FC do the things I want from it?

I was dealing with a brand new flight controller from far east. It is a FC with a built in VTX and OSD. Long story short with our brand new design it is not possible to use the onboard OSD. We are still trying to find out what is the most stable (in case of a crash) and most agile frame with less weight. Also we are thinking of a race unit or going for a video stabilized quad with longest flight times. Maybe a mix of both worlds. „Project Unknown“ will be a milestone for the future if there will be no other vendor from far east to force us on our knees.

Trappy this is your chance to get in contact with me again. PJCTUKNWN will be a huge impact if we will get it to life…

3rdeye or 3rdeee TE981H firmware misflash

Last weekend I did a mistake and flashed an old firmware on my 3rdeye fpv monitor. So it ended bricked with colored lines on the screen. 3rdeye told me that I have to send it back to them (to china). They provided a correct firmware for me but there is no screen even on the av out to go back into the menu to flash from sd card. Today I decided to take it apart. While dismantling the device I broke the switch for changing between movie and recording which is not a big problem for me if I can bring it back to life. So here are some specs the vendor is hiding so far.

  • Battery 3.7v 3200mAh 11.8Wh
  • Cpu Zoran ZR36490BGF
  • SK hynix HY27US08561A (memory)
  • SK hynix H5PS5162GFR (sdram ddr2)
  • Techwell TW9910 (video decoder)
  • SM201R (120mW video receiver)

Also there are only 5 buttons on the front frame but on the mainboard there are 6 buttons one is on the top which maybe only does a reset of the device. I will try my luck and hopefully find a way to flash it by myself.
