Tick’s progress
The Tick is gone final
The last weekend we manufactured the last missing parts to get the tick V2 to a first proof. It is now more than 1,5 years ago that we started this tremendous project. Since the start I promoted the project amongst others to the Team Blacksheep to get some feedback. We already made some plans about the successor of the tick to get more flight times but realized that the next version will grow bigger from the frame size like we have right now. But first step is the tick bringing into the air soon to see what is possible with the actual setup.Trust me, there are so much possibilities we already have in sketches but the time is running away with less manpower and our daily work. Here are the last results of the progress. We isolated the power board and get the first part of the carbon fibre gimbal mount.
New esc Carrier for the tick
Testflight The Tick version2
Research is going on… Don´t hesitate the progress is in move with this fuckin´ tiny copter. First testflights with full lift of weight are around 11:30min flight times. The following video was one of the first flights last week. Right now the tick is in optimizing state. The gimbal is missing, and the parameters for the flight have to get figured out. There will come minor changes to the setup because the connections have to get constructed for easy exchange of the arms… The arm setup is still the most important thing so we will get more power into it to make it the most perfect hexa style copter, ever created… DJI be aware hahaha

propulsion of the tick
Today one of my friends showed me the propulsion of his quadcopter. In the end I am thinking of changing the whole concept. His motors are much bigger than mine and the ESC are bigger too but will offer much more spare power to the tick. In the end there is a overpowered but not underpowered hexa style copter which has much more energy reserves to go up in the sky. The next step is to change the arm design to fit everybodies needs and several motor combinations. As long as I am over the design there are more influences coming into every part. I want to fit everybodies needs so you are able in to go with your choice of motors to get the most out of it. Please understand that this is not an easy idea but to introduce a versatile frame with the most options like THE TICK we try to do the best job…
I am changing the whole design to fit motors with a diameter of maximum 27mm´s to comfort everyone out there. So there are thousands of possibilities of motor and esc combinations. This will make it possible to get the most options out of everything and get in advance of the specs.
The TICK and the materials
Hi guys,
while testing around with some prototypes and different materials there is one material which I found out has awesome characteristics. So the new plan is to make a mixture of different materials inside the tick to get the best performance and specs out of it. Today the first arm is done and so far I can say the arms will be the key to the goal. The knowledge we will bring into every piece will get the most power out of this beast.
But I know with every milestone reached there is more work coming because I have to go into more details. The plan is in my head and for parts captured already in files. I hope to get a first prototype of the new tick´s body the next few weeks. I don´t know how much weight the frame will have but it will be one of the lightest frames in this class ever. In this class? There is no other frame as I know so far which has the options like our Tick…
